Present App metadata similar to Most App Stores
Problem
Users currently have to know a bit about what they're searching for before they search for an app. It would be nice to see details on the app so the user can perform judgement of whether the app is suitable to install.
Description
When possible, metadata such as app icon, app description, in-app screenshots, license information, link to source code, link to issues, link to change log, app permissions, listed versions, etc should be visible from within the app. This might not be possible for all applications. But for many sources, this is still possible and very useful.
Alternatives
- Make users use F-Droid, Google Play Store, etc for app information but still use obtainium to install the application.
- Make users have to scan the internet for details on the app. But then you'd probably already know the URL to fetch the app and kind of defeats the point of in-app search.
Moreover, it would be nice if the app icon was displayed in the search results. As someone dyslexic, I really have a hard time with seeing only text. The app list is fine because there are icons. But the app listing in search is really tedious for me to go through personally. I think this would be very advantageous for other users as well since humans naturally can scan through icons faster than a bunch of text.
Could you add market scheme to open app detail page in Obtanium? Let Obtanium behaves like a store app?
@BingoKingo there's already an issue for that
