Reversed double-line prompt

In theory I'd really like to use double line transient prompts like e.g.:

  ~/nix g master ⇡1       dpc@mutex 08:32:59
❯

but in practice the fact that the top line "disappears" generates sort of annoying "flicker" that is a bit disorienting, as the whole command kind of moves up one line. I don't know - maybe I'm the only one annoyed by it.

I was wondering though how practical would be to reverse the two?

This way, when I press enter the command itself does not move. Only the last line gets cleared, and output starts appearing in it's place.

Did anyone ever tried that? Would it work? I'm not sure if there are some fish prompt handling details that would make it technically impossible to achieve.
