[Bug]: Combo validation messages are shown when the app loads

Description

I have a form with a required combo. When the app loads, the combo is highlighted in red, and the validation message appears immediately. Instead, only the helper text should be shown on page load, with validation triggering after user interaction. WebComponents validation.zip

Reproduction

  1. Open the attached sample.
  2. Load the app.

Is this a regression?

No or unsure. This never worker, or I haven't tried before.
