row and column wise cell merging feature in Ignite UI Angular Data grid

i am requesting for a new feature support in Ignite UI Angular Data grid which is cell merging . i want to cell merge on column or row base . for reference follow this link so you can understand easily . https://www.infragistics.com/products/ignite-ui-web-components/web-components/components/grids/data-grid/cell-merging . but this feature is not available in ignite angular data grid .. it is required on high priority base according to my feature or functionality . so provide me solution asap . here i provide image which is related to row merge for similar value .. same as column merge also required . SRK-MRP

@sumitsp7 the feature request is duplicate with #3514 That issue is to be closed and will be tracked in #3514. The feature request in research phase but cannot be committed for Q3 2023

no .. it is not a solution which is we need.. we need it in angular UI not in Jquery or other tech.

@sumitsp7 , you can check that on our Roadmap (https://github.com/IgniteUI/igniteui-angular/blob/master/ROADMAP.md) the feature is currently not listed as part of the current Milestone but we'll have a few talks this week which may change that. Overall, the feature is not the simplest to implement properly because of the always-on virtualization of the Angular grid and the demand for it isn't very high so it has been in the backlog for quite some time. As we are trying to get full feature parity with our older grids, it will get implemented at some point, it's just unclear exactly where it will fall in our development plans for 2024.

@radomirchev Any updates on this? I'm looking to be able to conditionally merge cells as well, just like we'd do in a table by using the colspan attribute.
