change size of "EDIT" button

In German "edit" is called "bearbeiten" which is a pretty long word. For that reason the "EDIT" button is quite big. Do I have any chance to change that or maybe replace it by a pencil symbol or something like that?

Hey, changing the text is not really under my control. Maybe ask this in the dokuwiki forums...

What I can do it try to overrule everything inside the button using CSS or JS and use that to add an icon. But I'm kinda busy right now. I'll add this to the list and do every change alltogether within a month.
