Enhanced curation support: communication, who is curating, curation status

As a Dataverse admin and curator, I'd like to get more technical support for curation, either built-in in Dataverse or through an integration, including the following features:

• Provide feedback / communicate about a dataset with depositor and possibly also other curators within the same Dataverse or Dataverse installation.
• Overview of who is curating which dataset(s).
• Overview of curation status, e.g. through additional status tags (in addition to the existing one: Draft, In Review, Unpublished); it should be possible to search and filter datasets according to these tags.

Some of these features might already be included in existing integrated tools, are thought of in planned tools.

Enhanced curation support as described above would make it easier for curated Dataverse repositories with larger curator teams to keep track on curation and curation issues.

Just a short hands-up. I have included this feature in a work package of a project described in an outline for a research infrastructure grant proposal submitted to the Research Council of Norway (see info here). If the outline is accepted, we'll submit a grant application with a deadline in November. I think this could be a nice project to collaborate on with the Dataverse community. I'll keep you posted.

Surprisingly often, we have say that we don't want to build "chat" into Dataverse, but I know what you mean! There has been a little chatter (not recently) about integrating with ticketing system in this issue:

Thanks, Phil! As soon as we migrate our installation to the cloud, we'll upgrade to the newest version and implement the curation labels. Also, enhancing curation management - probably through an integrated tool - is still part of the grant proposal we plan to resubmit. A new call is probably coming next year.
