Sort fails on currency and commas

Open akanik opened this issue 11 years ago • 4 comments

I thought at first my issue was related to having a number in the column header, but removing that and do some trial and error made me realize that the column sorting wouldn't work on currency columns or columns where thousands are separated by commas.

Is this a known issue?

Sorry, here is the spreadsheet I'm trying to use: https://docs.google.com/a/publicsource.org/spreadsheets/d/1tFSamPr7x3s16dLJnsQfQZZsQKbD1SIyZSaYSziJtBw/edit#gid=0

I think this is related to issue #13. Unfortunately the only workaround I can offer right now is removing commas and dollar signs from the data.

Update: I tried to create a chart using google spreadsheet and the same issue occurred. Searching for google spreadsheet issues brought up nothing...

A duplication: http://sarahglen.com/chalkbeat/RTTTmoneyspent/index.html

but the money spent column isn't sorting correctly. at first i thought it was because of the dollar signs i included, but after removing those it's still not sorting the money spent column correctly and i'm not sure why. have you seen this happen before?
