Switch to k-wave-python

Open faberno opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Please describe your :rocket: feature request. Using k-wave with matlab

  • requires a license
  • adds a significant IO overhead to the simulation
  • makes debugging harder

k-wave-python solves these issues and implements all functionalities that we need.

Hi @faberno, This sounds incredibly useful. What is the status?

Hey @jgroehl, everything should be finished, just didn't find the time to make the PR. Can do that in the next days.

That is fantastic news! Thanks!

Hi!

I just wanted to express my support for the k-wave-python integration.

I’m very interested in using SIMPA with the full acoustics simulation features, but I don’t have access to MATLAB, so this update would make a huge difference for my ability to use the toolkit completely.

The work you’re doing is amazing, and it’s great to hear the implementation is already mostly finished. Really looking forward to the update!

Thanks again for maintaining SIMPA! Martin
