Should validator also send preflight OPTIONS request?

Related to #33, should the validator also send OPTIONS to potentially prime the way for the actual CORS request? Or does no system really take this into account? Or is this testing CORS and not IIIF? Note that the spec and apache implementation note don't mention it.
