[BUG]: Confirmation needded when switching rule sets

Open philljenkins opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

Project

a11y checker extension

Browser

Chrome

Operating system

Windows

Description

When changing the Ruleset selected, there is no confirmation that the change was completed.

Part of the issue is the difficulty in finding the place to change/select the Ruleset being used. and understanding if/why you would want to. RuleSets are explained in the User Guide, which is very hard to find. RuleSets are included in Options in the Checker, but no indication that Options include changing Rulesets RuleSets are included in dropdown next to blue Scan button.

Some users may be looking for SETTINGS and//or Settings icon (not options)

Steps to reproduce

1.From either the More Info icon next to the blue Scan button (or the Select the Options link at the bottom of the BumbleBee icon on the browser toolbar Checker Options panel 2. Change the rule set selected and press Blue Save button 3. No mesage returned, although "Currently using: text is changed, but very subtle 5. Item is change in dropdown menu, so opening the meu will expose that chaned option is now checked. This is two levels deep in the UI. 6. No indication in Extension UI which Ruleset is currently running, why you would want to change it, nor how to do so. image image

@philljenkins Notice in the screenshots that the "Currently active:" does change.

Correct, but its that "subtle" change that is not noticeable.

Need a Design decision on how to display the change in state. Such as green checkmark, message, or ?
