Questions & Suggestions for CJK, figure design, variable fonts and Greek script

Hi, thanks for this amazing typeface. I have some questions and suggestions.

  1. When will IBM Plex Sans SC (Simplified Chinese) and IBM Plex Sans TC (Traditional Chinese) come out?
  2. I think fullwidth latin for CJK fonts seems better if use some design from IBM Plex Mono for reference. Before: image After: image
  3. Are there any plans for serifless variant of 1 and 7 on IBM Plex Sans? image
  4. Are there any plans for variable IBM Plex Serif & IBM Plex Mono?
  5. Greek script is missing in IBM Plex Mono. Any plans for it?

About suggestion 2, a expand in Latin scripts' size is better for CJK fonts. Fullwidth Latin does look distinctive, but it's a strange idea to actually use it in Plex Sans SC. Maybe we could have a Plex Mono SC.

  1. Plex SC and TC are hopefully delivered in Q3 2023

  2. I’m hoping to do away with the full-width but if we must have it I prefer the mono for it as well.

  3. Probably not, it moves away from some core ideas. Will consider though.

  4. On the burner for now. We have some priorities to contend with before this. It’s on our wish list for sure.

  5. Greek Serif is in the future and already well underway within the scope of our Plex Math project. This will be added to Plex Serif once we’re done with the design phase.

The serifless 1 is recommended for proportional figures.

@doloopo 可以参考下微软雅黑、微软正黑、Malgun Gothic 等字体，全角部分（比如ｉｌ等字）就是参考了等宽字体。 Malgun Gothic ｉｌ

There are no plans for serifless proportional 1 and 7. That would remove what makes Plex Plex and what I explicitly intended for those figures.

Greek is not included in Plex Serif

I like the idea of Mono for the full width in Plex JP/TC/SC

@mjabbink I think you meant: "Greek is not included in Plex Mono".

Latest version of Plex Serif (v3.0) has support for Greek.

I meant to say “Greek is now included Plex Serif.” I blame it on iPhone! per the question above 4. Are there any plans for variable IBM Plex Serif
