Add UI button to create n Labels.

Feature idea.

One of the drawbacks of creating Labels is it being a time consuming process.

Describe the solution you'd like

Improving the user experience by adding the functionality in the UI to create multiple Labels.

  • Provide a drop down to select the number of Labels (5,10,15) to create
  • each Label has one Extractor added to show Name, JSONPath and Variant

That is an interesting idea. Have you seen a "bulk create" button in another product or service where you might be able to share a screen shot? It would be interesting to see it in use in another context. I agree that creating labels right now is cumbersome. I personally do not think batching clicks will fit well into a user's workflow when trying to create lables. If I am doing "bulk create" I think the workflow is more like Excel (Google sheets) where I want to use enter, tab, or arrows to focus on the next input rather than clicking but that is my personal preference. Do you find you would rather click to create labels or use keyboard navigation?

I don't have an example but the Excel spreadsheet example is useful. Using the keyboard for navigating is a useful productivity boost. Given your suggestion I think the the user can be presented with a pop-up window with a radio button near the top. Choices being:

  • batch click n Variables
  • grid of fields for n Variables

Switching between the two options shows/hides the grid.

This proposal for Labels also applies for Extractors. To speed up the users productivity.
