[SM64DS] Audio static / crackling

Weird, I actually can't reproduce this. I was going to suggest it might be an issue with the game's surround sound effect, because I had an issue with that before. It might be some weird audio driver shenanigans? I'll try to test on Windows when I get a chance.
Further testing seems to show that the effect is not limited to just that sound and seems to only occur after either a certain length of playtime or after enough different sound effects have been played. I can't claim to have any knowledge on how this works so my assumptions could be way off. The effect is most noticable with the jingle that plays when re-entering the castle and the rolling ball sounds in BOB.)
Thanks for the thorough testing on this! I can indeed reproduce it after a while of playtime. No clue what could be causing it though.
