Very dark images

I have some satellite images that are converted from float32 Gtiff to PNG Uint16. When I open them in a gis software they appear correctly yet when I open them in labelImg they appear way too dark with almost no detail. I use windows 10. Beloew are the images of PNG images labeimg gis

I expect that this is caused by very small numeric values in the gtiff, i.e. not using the full 16 bit range. Did you examine the details of the conversion process? Did you consider changing the conversion process?
