my twitch chat windows are just black

i know this github is dead by i first wanna hold off on paying money for ovrdrop. i tried using the restream chat program but its just blackscreen. i tried opening my chat on firefox and selecting that and its just blackscreen. how do i get it to work. i tried using the twitchchat thing but i cant figure out where to get a token

There's a couple different capture methods supported by OVRDDP. If one of them shows black, the window may not support being captured by that method, so you could try a different one. OVRdrop supports an entirely different capture method, which is significantly faster, but unfortunately currently able to only capture windows visible on your screen, and only screens connected to the same GPU as the primary screen (as set by Windows). OVRdrop is GPU accelerated and can easily handle 1440p at well over 200 FPS for most GPUs, but OVRDDP could only handle around 480p at 24 FPS on even some of the fastest CPUs.

As for the token for OVRTC, it's not actually required. You only need the OAuth token if you don't want to effect your "viewer" count. OVRTC will connect as a guest if you leave the username/password blank, but this increases the viewer count by 1. Otherwise, you can get your OAuth at this link which is posted in OVRTC's Readme: https://www.twitchapps.com/tmi/. This link is not an official Twitch link, but is able to connect securely to Twitch using your login information and safe web protocols and generate an IRC password (the OAuth) which can be used safely in other apps to connect as your user in Twitch's Chat system without ever transmitting or using your real Twitch password.
