After some more testing I've discovered that most of my drives don't work with CDs that have Hidden Track One Audio (HTOA). These CDs are rare and they work fine...

I get a very similar error message to previously for CDs with HTOA on that build. 

It has been working fine in 2.1.6 and it looks to be working fine in 2.1.9 too.
