[Feature request] hide the "SystemTrayMenu" label on taskbar
Hi,
Thank you for this nice app. I have a small feature request: when having "Show in Taskbar" enabled, is it possible to implement an option to hide the "SystemTrayMenu" label on the taskbar so that only the icon of your program shows? (basically how it will show in the system tray but than on the taskbar).
Thanks in advance for reading.
ppzz123 -- If you follow a few instructions, I think you can achieve the results as depicted in this screenshot...
In SystemTrayMenu, go to
- Settings --> Advanced --> tick "Show in Taskbar"
- Once you see a taskbar button (with label), right-click it and click "Pin to taskbar"
- Settings --> Advanced --> UNtick "Show in Taskbar"
- Settings --> Size and location --> Main menu appears --> tick "At mouse location"
- If it works correctly, go ahead and do your happy dance!
By the way, I quite agree with you that this is a nice app, and might even call it a VERY nice app! My thanks to the developers!
I would also like to have this feature to hide the label on the taskbar. The workaround described by GarryM99 does not work for me.
LarryGT,
After a bit of tinkering, I discovered that my workaround procedure also depends on ticking another non-default option for SystemTrayMenu. I didn't notice because I had already set this option for another reason...
Step 1.1) Settings --> Advanced --> tick "Send hotkey to other instance"
My testing was done on Windows 11 v23H2, so your mileage may vary if you have another version. Also, on advice from my legal counsel, Step 5 (the Happy Dance) is completely optional and should only be performed at an age-appropriate level after consulting with your physician. You agree to hold me harmless for any resulting injuries :)
Thank you for your feedback!

Normally i hide this via windows
=> possible feature request (to change in options)
I would also love a feature to just have the icon, the taskbar already gets busy, so any space I can save there is good. :)
BTW, the hack to remove it works just fine for me, so maybe just document that!
