ROS One release?
Hi there Giang, greetings from Hamburg.
I just found this project :medal_sports: and am somewhat surprised that you did not release it into rosdistro / ROS noetic via bloom. Could you possibly do that or is there a reason why you did not? I'm wondering whether it makes sense to include it in ROS-O sources lists, e.g., [0,1].
Hi, grüß dich :) I could do it, but I didn't because I didn't think about it and noone complains :) Besides, ROS noetic is almost deprecated so I'm working in another project since a while. Please check out if you're interested https://github.com/Multiverse-Framework/Multiverse
Moin, I've seen Multiverse and it looks impressive. I'm looking forward to what you do with it! But it's obviously way heavier on dependencies and build-structure and should be packaged outside the ROS ecosystems first. There are still merits in the mujoco packages you created here.
I agree that ROS noetic ends sooner or later (thus ROS-O), but it would still be an option to release to noetic to promote this work. A number of groups fetch package lists from ROS noetic via rosdistro to build packages in different contexts (e.g., using rosinstall_generator or rosdep).
I'll add mujoco_sim to the TODO list for my ROS-O builder for now as there don't seem to be clear blockers.
Thank you, let me know when you finish it or have any issues.
