NAudio 2.0.0 - and therefore NAudio.Lame 2.0.0 - targets .NET Standard 2.0, so the minimum supported .NET Framework version is v4.7.2. No, this cannot be fixed. If you are still using ancient versions of .NET Framework then you're going to be limited to earlier releases. Check out the previous release for a NuGet package that will work with .NET Framework 4.5 (and possibly lower).

This is an interim release to make the .NET 4.0 package available for people to test. NAudio.Lame.Net4 is not going on NuGet.
