Relative and Absolute Volume

Open SuperFlomm opened this issue 7 years ago • 3 comments

As far as I know it's currently not possible to have relative or absolute volume in FamiTracker's instrument editor. So hereby I'd like to request such a feature. It would work just like relative and absolute pitch and arpeggio. With relative volume the volume of each note depends on the volume of the previous note. With absolute volume the volume of each note depends on the volume of the first note.

Relative examples:

Editor: 0 | -1 Effect if volume = F: F E D C B A 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 0 0 0... Effect if volume = 4: 4 3 2 1 0 0 0 0...

Editor: 0 | 2 Effect if volume = 0: 0 2 4 6 8 A C E F F F F... Effect if volume = 8: 8 A C E F F F F...

Absolute example:

Editor: 0 0 0 0 -4 -4 -4 -4 -8 Effect if volume = C: C C C C 8 8 8 8 4 4 4 4... Effect if volume = 6: 6 6 6 6 2 2 2 2 0 0 0 0...

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say and will consider adding this feature to 0CC-FamiTracker. Thanks in advance. :-)

I think hertzdevil is no longer using this bugtracker. See http://hertzdevil.info/bug/view_all_bug_page.php .

how will this behave when combined with Axy / 7xy?

I'm unfortunatly not sure how this would behave. Probably similar to how relative and absolute pitch behaves with 1xx, 2xx and 4xy.
