Since the update to 2.17, the EGS overlay is not visible anymore
Describe the bug
I have a couple of EGS game installed. Since the update to Heroic 2.17, the EGS overlay does not seem to load.
No toast notification. SHIFT+F3 does nothing.
Overlay is installed:
And enabled for the game:
Since I updated the overlay at the same time I updated Heroic, the problem could also lie here.
Add logs
I will attach the logs to the ticket as they are bigger than the field size.
Steps to reproduce
- Launch the game
- The overlay does not show
Expected behavior
- Launch the game
- A notification appear in the corner
- The overlay appears with SHIFT+F3

Have you tried with the latest GE-Proton? you are using 9-25, GE-Proton 10-2 added a fix for the EOS overlay https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/GE-Proton10-2 (the EOS overlay got updated around the time of the release of heroic 2.17) so you might need to update the proton you use
I can consistently reproduce the problem using GE-Proton 9 and consistently get it working with GE-Proton 10-3

Same behavior with Proton 10-3 for the game Hardspace: Shipbreaker: no overlay.
As a side note, I cannot launch any other game on Heroic nor on Steam with Proton 10-3: LDME 6 has Mesa 22 and I am impacted by the bug https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8696.
Weirdly, as said above, Heroic successful launches the game Hardspace: Shipbreaker with Proton 10-3 but without overlay.
Me too. EOS overlay doesn't work.
EOS overlay is installed. I enabled EOS overlay for the game. I'm using GE-Proton latest version.

I tried this too, but it doesn't work.
I can confirm that ,when using GE-Proton 10, the overlay is visible again.
