The MRU list doesn't display any text

The MRU list of Visual Studio 2017 doesn't show any text for the MRU items. Neither does clicking them open the solution. However, the correct number of items is displayed.

I temporarily removed/disabled the MRU list, due to an invalid DataContext is provided by Visual Studio. The issue is reported here: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/52775/start-page-receives-invalid-datacontext-from-visua.html
