Can't access popup menu or settings when main bar set to hidden

So I might be overlooking something, but I can't figure out how to access the popup menu (with the items 'launcher settings', 'access hidden apps', 'change wallpaper' and 'full scan') or the settings screen after turning on launcher settings > appearance preferences > hide main bar.

After the Emerald settings disappears from the Android recents screen, there's no way to get to the settings anymore.

Proposed solution: add a menu button (three dots vertical) to the Android navigation bar. As this would not work on devices with hardware buttons, also or instead add the option to open the popup menu by long pressing the home or back button, or long-pressing on empty space in between icons.

Great launcher by the way, only one that I could find that just shows all installed apps on the home screen and can be configured the way I want it--just rows of icons without text, so I can open any app from my home screen with minimal effort. Thanks!

Hello. It's possible to open the popup by pressing the menu (square) button on the navigation bar. On some phones (e.g. Samsungs) this button may do some system actions (open Recents or similar) instead, so there should be another way to open this popup(holding back button for Samsungs) provided by vendor.

Aha! I've never seen the square do anything else but open the recents screen. I use LineageOS 14.1 on a phone without hardware buttons. Anyway, your comment made me look into the LineageOS settings for customizing the navigation bar and there I was able to assign the 'open menu' action to a long press on the home button. So that solves this for me, thanks!

Sorry, I'm quite new to Github; should I close this issue myself?

I had like to keep it open for some time.

Unfortunately this solution does not work for a large number of devices. We really need an option to popup the menu in non-samsung devices. Could the "main menu" contents be added to the context menu that you get when long pressing an icon? Or perhaps long press back-button could be made to do it (I think I've seen it in some other apps)?

I've added the shortcut to open the launcher's menu in the latest commit, but it won't work on Oreo at this moment. To make it work on Oreo, I have to make Oreo shortcuts work as well.
