Get tree data from wikidata
The list for the tree species / genus quest could use a list of species created from wikidata. This would be a more complete list, and add translations of species names for many languages. Further the data could be used to parse the species of a tree and show its localized name.
westnordost already did create the data in #582, so the only thing necessary is that SCEE makes use of it. This is not a super difficult task, but it's time consuming and my interest in working on SCEE is declining as I lost hope that Maplibre will ever work on my main phone.

Oh, this is about https://github.com/maplibre/maplibre-native/issues/2206 , isn't it? And it looked like there was some movement a few month ago 😢.
Yes, I had some hope. But since this is not a priority a Maplibre and there was no reply to logs and test results I don't think there will be improvements. I had the idea of trying a special old-phone-version using MapLibre 10.3. Probably will need a custom version of MapLibre compose then.
I've been looking into new options that fit my criteria¹ because my S10e is also already 6+ years old (battery is starting to die for the second time) recently, and the Sony Xperia series is still the only option available that somewhat fulfills these criteria. It's (even) bigger than the S10e (70mm wide) but only vertically, though.
There are somewhat smaller recent devices. The BlackView A52 is about as wide as the S4 Mini and 4cm higher, but no OLED and no custom ROMs available. The Unihertz Jelly Max is actually pretty much exactly the same size as the S4 mini, only with a huge battery, but also no OLED and no custom ROMs available.
TBH with these results, I somewhat gave up on small smartphones, I've gotten used to that usage with thumb is already somewhat inconvenient and when making (longer) calls, I find the use of a (BT) headset more convenient anyway.
¹ usage-with-thumb small, custom rom capable or Android with no bloat, OLED display, somewhat recent
