Upload button disappears in SCEE

if grid menu is enabled, when some data transfer is happening, "Upload button" disappears completely, which is not only unexpected, but moves other menu items, and causes muscle memory to misclick.

How to Reproduce

• enable "Show all main menu items as grid" in SCEE settings
• initiate long-running download (e.g. a slow link or lost of data)
• open the menu
• notice that upload button has disappeared completely, and other (following) menu entries have shifted

Expected Behavior The upload button would just get disabled/shaded while some transfer is happening, like it is when it is in default UI / SC (long rectangle, instead of a square like other buttons).

Does it happen in normal StreetComplete? No, SC does not have that display option (and regular options works fine in SC)
