Bug: keyboard stays in horizontal mode, cut off to the right

Open secretmango opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

GrapheneOS Android 14 Openboard 1.4.5 OS: auto-rotate off

In the work profile is another version of Openboard, there it maybe appeared in landscape mode.

But this is abot the regular profile, always portait mode.

The keyboard always appeared in horizontal size i.e. too wide. The anchor point to the top left was correct, so it was cut off approximately at the half width.

Turning on autorotate and using the keyboard in landscape mode (displayed correctly) and then portait again changed nothing.

It is also not a graphics bug, because the buttons worked according to what was displayed.

Changing to AOSP keyboard and back. Didnt try if fixed.

Fixed after reboot.

This might be better in 2.0, but I don't have a device with this problem so I can't test.

as i don't experience this issue on my device i can't confirm it but the "second hand reports" i get - from 2 different devices where this was happening - suggest that this didn't occur again after updating to version >= 2.x. ...one of them only mentioned that once the field for the keyboard popped up as usual but stayed completely blank and once the app crashed... but IMHO that could have a completely different cause.
