Spell checking doesn't work for words typed before others

Describe the bug Spell checking doesn't work if you type a word before another. You must place the cursor at the end of the text for it to work.

To Reproduce

1. Type something
2. Place the cursor exactly before this word
3. Type the next word incorrectly and add a space
4. Notice that the word is not underlined

Expected behavior Spell checking works no matter where the cursor is.

App version 3.0-beta3, but also in older versions.

Device:

• Model: Motorola
• OS: LineageOS 22.2

It seems that the bug doesn't occur in the browser. I'm using Kiwi Browser if that matters. Maybe this is a clue.

Hm, this problem also occurs with Gboard spell checker. I'm thinking of closing this issue, but I'm not sure if it's an Android bug or a bug with the spell checker on these keyboards and can be fixed in HeliBoard.
