Table projections failed for me using "reader and data access" and a system-managed identity. I'm pretty sure this is a regression. The bug is still unassigned, and I'm not sure...

You can still index data from Azure Table Storage if you use what we call the "push model" of indexing, where your client code pushes a JSON payload for indexing....
