Uncaught exception - [lime.utils.Preloader] ERROR: There is no asset library with an ID of "default" at startup.

  • Flixel version: 5.5.0
  • OpenFL version: 9.3.2
  • Lime version: 8.1.1
  • Affected targets: neko, windows

Code snippet reproducing the issue:

package;

import flixel.FlxState;

class PlayState extends FlxState
{
	override public function create()
	{
		super.create();
	}

	override public function update(elapsed:Float)
	{
		super.update(elapsed);
	}
}

Observed behavior: Uncaught exception - [lime.utils.Preloader] ERROR: There is no asset library with an ID of "default" image

Expected behavior: Normal startup.

what does your project.xml look like

I dropped the Flixel version and it solved the problem.

@nennneko5787 if there's an issue with a later flixel version I need to know why. can you share your project.xml

@nennneko5787 What is the path to your exe file? I had a similar issue on a lime-only project and it turns out that the version of SDL that lime uses in v8.1 doesn't handle long file paths (> 126 characters) very well. For me, however, the fix was to upgrade to lime 8.2 which uses an updated version of SDL
