Add functionality for events and get/delete messages

Separate commits for each change. Events API, get/delete messages, and store() action in routes. Added tests and updated README.

Looks like there's already a pull for some of this functionality. The store() action still appears relevant. Pick and choose anything else you feel is useful.

Any plan to accept this pull request (or any similar)? It would be useful to better cover API
