I believe this is actually caused by https://github.com/algolia/instantsearch.js/issues/2084. For now I'd recommend _not using_ rootPath if you are touched by these bugs

This issue contains many different sub-issues, so is hard to follow who needs further help. I'll close it now, as I believe the main documentation solves this.
