Some possible language from Laurie:

Choosing a school for your child can present many questions to the parent or guardian…

• Where do the other children in the surrounding neighborhood(s) go to school? • Should I send my child to a nearby school, or one that is farther away that offers special advanced programs? • Are there students who attend my child’s school that also live in my neighborhood?

When trying to select a school for your child, it can be difficult to navigate DC’s education system, between the public school out-of-boundary process and the selection of public charter schools.

The selection process is difficult. The Code for DC Education Project recognizes the difficulty in selecting the right school for your child. We also recognize that the “right” school for your child is not solely based on standardized test scores, but also by teacher turnover, parent involvement, the special and community program offering and more.

We have built a custom tool that provides parents with the facts and data they need to choose the best educational option for their child.

How do they use it? Why should they use it and how will they benefit from using the tool? What is the call-to-action? What is the goal? What is the mission?

The Code for DC Education Project helps parents choose an appropriate school for their school-aged child by providing them with key facts and data that narrow down the selection process while saving time, and restoring confidence to the parent in their choice.

The Code for DC Education Project enhances the educational enrollment process.
