For example:

• Protection against, and/or notification for, possible malware (such as keyloggers)
• A way to check the integrity of firmware

Hardened operating systems like GrapheneOS have protections that relate to USB devices, but RMK can address the issues more impractical for OSs to solve. The Rust community is known for its passion for security, so I believe there would certainly be interest for these features.
