eventtap.keyStroke not working

hs.eventtap.keyStroke({"ctrl"}, "left")

this didn't seem to execute ctrl+leftarrow. it didn't do anything. when I see what keys were pressed, it only pressed left arrow.

My hs.eventtap.keyStroke({"shift", "cmd"}, "4") didnt work 。macOS 14.7.4

  • hs.eventtap.keyStroke({"ctrl"}, "left") does nothing
  • hs.eventtap.keyStroke({"fn", "ctrl"}, "left") sends ctrl+left
  • apparently there's no way to do actual fn+ctrl+left
