Sounds a bit like issue i have with locus. Time to time the application hides all points/caches. I need to go to points and click on image next to folder...

Not fixed in 3.18.9. Still issue.

Currently you can achieve it with basic app. You can add friends nicknames in geocaching section of locus app and you should see if they logged cache already.
