Setting this up honestly takes more time than a potential contributor may wish to spare.

Possible Solutions:

  • Platform-dependent scripts
  • Puppet
  • Vagrant box for straight fetch and deploy.
  • Packages/Ports on platform repos. (Eg. apt, freebsd-ports, etc)
