Device: Xiaomi MI CC 9 Android Version: 30 AppVersion: Version 4.0.5 (4760) User ID: 40f94655-5282-481e-a693-48852bd3a3cf Level: 21 Class: rogue Is in Inn: false Uses Costume: true Custom Day Start: 0 Timezone Offset: -660 Details:

Regardless of my setting on the Web, the date format is wrong on my device. It is using US date format when it should be dd/mm/yyyy [...] The issue occurs in task view and the task itself. Screenshot_2023-01-19-05-53-39-060_com habitrpg android habitica

@rilygreat can you share, what setting do you mean? I didn't know that you can set your preferred date formats

the issue is likely because the website and android app just don't share that method for date format. on the website, if you go into settings there's an option for date format. this only affects the website. there is not a similar setting on android settings.

however, the android app will change your date format to follow the standard format language you select. for example, british english will change your date format to day month year instead of month day year. changing to german will display dates like dd.mm.yyyy with periods because thats what's standard in germany.

after some discussion, im going to remove the help wanted tag and replace it with a suggestion tag, as this is more of a higher level UX decision than a bug

We're going to explore making the app follow your device's system setting for dates rather than add a duplicate setting to the app for now.

If we get that working and still receive reports, we'll re-evaluate.
