Is it possible to export the filtered OSM to OSM/XODR?

Hi, I've recently started using this amazing library, I have filtered my OSM file and now I want to export the filtered data with the just the roads I have on there back into OSM or XODR format. I have not found any function in the API that can do this(to the best of my understanding). Is this possible? Can you please help, thank you!
