Additionally the following pages need translated too in the language specific templates directory, but less important than core templates and chapters:
- [ ] 2021/methodology.html -
- [ ] accessibility_statement.html -
- [x] base_ebook.html- @AbbyTsai
- [ ] 2019/methodology.html -
- [x] 2020/methodology.html - @AbbyTsai
Please include "Makes progress on #1106 " in all pull requests so a link is created from the PR to this issue.
There is no need to translate the chapters HTML pages in src/templates/en/2019/chapters/
nor the src/templates/en/2019/ebook.html
file as they are generated off the markdown combined with the above templates.
Common notes for writing consistency are here: https://github.com/HTTPArchive/almanac.httparchive.org/wiki/Translators'-Guide. Feel free to edit that and/or add Traditional Chinese-specific extras by editing this comment.
Traditional Chinese specific extra advice:
- a copywriting guidance warm sharing from CYBAI suggests that it's better to put a space between mix language in Chinese and English, and don't leave a space if there is the punctuation next to them.
- English half width of punctuation marks as Chinese full width, for example:“,。、;“.
- “The Web Almanac” translates into ”Web Almanac 網路年鑑”.
- Keep purely English in proper noun, abbreviation, for example, “Web Almanac“、“HTTP Archive“、“WebPageTest“、Lighthouse“、“BigQuery“: retain it in English. “The“: let it off without a blank seat. “M“、“TB“: maintain it in English as a generally abbreviated unit of measurement known.

Hi @rviscomi @AbbyTsai , I'd like to help to translate the performance
2020 chapter 🙋♂️
Excellent @CYBAI - added your name to the team so you can assign yourself tasks in the first comment, and put your name against it.
The content is in src/content/en/2020/performance.md
and should be copied to src/content/zh-TW/2020
and translated. They open a pull request for @AbbyTsai to review the translation andone of the core contributors (probably myself) to review the technical side of the translation.
@tunetheweb Thank you so much for your quick reply! I will follow the steps to open the PR when translation is ready! Thanks!
@tunetheweb I updated the description to add remaining chapters which were not added above to the 2020 section so that other contributors can pick them. But, I'm not sure about the popularity order for them so added a note there. Please correct me if I'm wrong 🙏 Thank you!
Most of them aren't edited yet so not available for translation just yet. So edited it again to just include the ones I know are ready (in a guesstimated order of popularity!).
Thanks. @CYBAI Glad to have you together in translating.

Ah, I see! Thanks for your help!
Thanks. @CYBAI Glad to have you together in translating.
@AbbyTsai Might take some time to translate though, I'm very happy to help :D
Hi @rviscomi @AbbyTsai

Will follow the steps to comment and open a PR.
and have got the file from src/content/en/2019/security.md

@CYBAI @jjjjackson go ahead, please, and put your name along with what you're interested in. we then know where we're dedicating.
@CYBAI @jjjjackson welcome you linking Chinese translation. Here we'd see some information of writing consistency in first comment, feel free to add our thoughts together.
