Color choices

Open KarenSharp opened this issue 8 years ago • 0 comments

The color red is a poor choice for 2 reasons: It creates a sense of alarm that then pervades the whole site, rather than a sense of calm, a sense that the processes and the opportunities to help are well organized. The second reason is that it makes it difficult to separate the distinctions between the disasters that truly are high urgency and the disasters that are not.

The rest of the page should be white, or neutral, so that the it is very easy to quickly scan the screen's information, as discussed in issue 569. Some styling or finishing that makes it apparent that the site was intentionally designed, rather than just thrown together, but it should be very subtle and not distract the eye from the action choices to be made on the site.
