Create Itinerary - Enhancement - Default to Event Address
Should creating an itinerary automatically use the event address at the start/end address when it is first created? The UI does not allow specification of an address at this stage.
We could include a checkbox (default to checked) to control this. This would make adding itineraries more efficient. Currently once created a user must edit the itinerary to set an address if they want to use route optimization features.
might need a discussion but good question for @OhMcGoo @schuback
@OhMcGoo and @schuback - any chance that you're able to answer this question?
Morning.
I will look up the issue number and see.

@stevejgordon, @schuback, @EmilyLuijbregts, @tonysurma: No and here's why. Many events with itineraries will likely be created with the address of a Red Cross facility (like our headquarters at 2200 W Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60612). However, depending on how the itinerary is created and where the homes are relative to the facility, it may be determined that volunteers meet at a staging area, instead. Thus, I think it would be OK to have an event address AND a staging or "starting" address. Make sense?
Decision Have a checkbox to allow defaulting the address through from the event to the itinerary. We can then allow those who opt out to add the address per the current flow.
