GWT 3.0 compatibility
Dears, GWT 3.0 will remove both widgets and UiBinders, so how does this affect gwtMaterialDesgin? and is there any plans to support what ever to come?
@vegegoku We have implemented JSinterop which is a core feature also on 3.0 , also We have an Errai support for gwt-material which doesnt require UiBinder. Our last goal is to separate our MaterialWidgets to GWT Widgets which is really the trickiest part.
@vegegoku my company is the primary (only?) sponsor of GWT Material Design, we have invested significantly into this framework and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. This includes continued improvements, new features and the refactoring of GMD 2.0 release which supports JsInterop and GWT 2.8. So we will also want to migrate GMD to support GWT 3.0 once we know exactly what GWT 3.0 looks like
Considering the amount of questions that arise in this topic (here, at Gitter chat, and at GWT mailing list), I think you should put some notice at the main page explaining the status of the project and future plans for GWT 3.0. People (mainly at enterprise) want to use future-proof technologies to avoid complete reworks of applications after some time.
As Angular is one of the main driver in the JS world, it might be a good idea to check if there is some overlapping. Havin GWTMaterialDesign somehow integrated with the ideas of angular2boot might be a possible approach to be on the safe side for enterprises as well. http://lteconsulting.fr/angular2boot/
