Option for tabs to be at the side, not just top and bottom

I would have put this on feathub - but it looks like the domain has changed hands. I would like to request an option to have the tabs at the side, rather like the Guake properties dialog has at the moment, I find it easier than having to scroll sideways to find a particular tab.

This would be a nice feature to have, but I believe that you might also want options to left-align and right-align the terminal instead of top-align and bottom-align. Then we can begin considering these alternate tab placements.
