Split tabs + Shortcut keys to navigate between split tabs are not working

Open uresh-kuruhuri opened this issue 5 years ago • 10 comments

Describe the bug I see the following key combinations under Keyboard shortcuts -> Split management Focus terminal above ->>   Shift + Super + Up Focus terminal below ->>   Shift + Super + Down Focus terminal on the left ->>   Shift + Super + Left Focus terminal on the right ->>   Shift + Super + Right

Expected behavior When I press the combination "Shift + Super + Up" the focus should be in the upper split terminal from the current split terminal. Likewise, for the remaining, based on the Down, Left and Right arrow key combinations, the focus should move to the terminal below, or to the left or right from the current split terminal respectively.

Actual behavior Focus terminal above - Shift + Super + Up - Not working Focus terminal below - Shift + Super + Down - Not working Focus terminal on the left - Shift + Super + Left - Moving the Guake terminal window to the left monitor (I think the Linux OS shortcuts for moving windows is working here, so not as expected.) Focus terminal on the right - Shift + Super + Right - Moving the Guake terminal window to the left monitor

To Reproduce

  1. Open the Guake Terminal
  2. Create couple of split terminals
  3. Try to navigate (or change focus) between the split terminals using the key combinations mentioned above.

Please run $ guake --support, and paste the results here. Don't put backticks (`) around it! The output already contains Markdown formatting. And make sure you run the command OUTSIDE the Guake. ureshk@ureshk-Lenovo-Z70-80:~/learningStuff$ guake --support

I am experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu 20.04 (GNOME Shell 3.36.3).

The following defaults shortcuts do not work even if the shortcuts are changed:

Focus terminal above ->> Shift + Super + Up
Focus terminal below ->> Shift + Super + Down

The Left and Right keyboard shortcuts work fine but as mentioned by the user above, the default values conflict with GNOME default shortcuts and must be changed in order to function properly.

Focus terminal above ->> Shift + Super + Up Focus terminal below ->> Shift + Super + Down Focus terminal on the Left ->> Shift + Super + Left Focus terminal on the Right ->> Shift + Super + Right

I'm also experiencing this on Ubuntu GNOME 3.38.4

None of these work: Focus terminal above ->> Shift + Super + Up Focus terminal below ->> Shift + Super + Down Focus terminal on the Left ->> Shift + Super + Left Focus terminal on the Right ->> Shift + Super + Right

*Update: changing the hotkey works for me. Wasn't in a previous distro, but is in Ubuntu 21.04
