The strip_ansi not removing the bell is an oversight/bug (it was originally not supported at all because it's annoying, but of course there are always some devs that want it...
@jzmiller1 Hmm, looks like this still breaks unit tests. Curiously this addition changes functionality elsewhere; that needs to be investigated (the unit tests should all keep working without change).
