Suggestion - Cultist hunter rework (buff)

Those of you who play big ww games (for example, in main, werewolf the game group) will know how often cult wins. This happens mainly because wolves eat the cultist hunter and cults can't be stopped without it.

Many ideas have been suggested to nerf cult, but why not buff cultist hunter instead? This is my idea of rework for the CH:

  • CH will only appear if there is cult (if there's ch with no cult, just replace with a lowly vg)

  • If CH chooses to hunt someone, he will be out of home and won't be able to get eaten (like with harlot)

  • When all cults are dead, CH will be notified and won't be able to hunt anymore (so he will be able to get eaten)

  • If somehow cult joins the game again (doppel of infected cultist is the only thing that comes to my mind) then notify ch and allow them to hunt again.

  • (Optional) Make ch not die anymore when visiting sk (this helps both ch and sk, since sk will be caught less often, and both of which need a buff imo)

  • Of course, increase cultist hunter's role strength accordingly (from 7 to 8-9?)

If you like this idea, I could also code it myself and make a pull request, to save you time in case there are other priorities with the bot.

This is an interesting idea. (The doppelgänger turns into what their role model was when they died, though, as a side note) I would not let him survive a visit of the sk, however, since it is part of the serial killers role that they kill everything that gets close to them. I personally like this (and would also code it, but there's one point yet before that on my to-do-list). I will bring this to the attention of the coding team!

Thank you for the reply! I wasn't sure about the sk interaction either, that's why I put it as "Optional". But I'm happy you liked the rest, as it is the main point of my suggestion. As long as CH has some way of surviving against ww, I'm fine with any changes. And I don't mind how long it takes, I just wanted the idea to be out there.

I’m not sure I would like this Ch.

  1. The Ch is the role that leads the game so also if there aren’t cultist people can always PM them as safe role and a game without Ch that leads the other players would be really hard to play.
  2. This is fine, we won’t lose the "leader" but I would prefer a Ch with an extra-life (like Wise Elder) instead of an invincible Ch
  3. I think it makes the game less funny because it is a strategy game so you have to guess if there are still other cultist and (as player) when you enjoy the game you have the "feel" of "I’m not sure it will end by killing this cult.." so you won’t enjoy at all the game as Ch if you kill the cultist during the first day and the bot already tell you that the game is ended. (unless the cultist is a suicide where the bot tells you the numbers of cultist but there is still the possibility of DG)
  4. It would be a little unfair to turn Ch to Villager and then again to Ch because they will know that if someone claimed DG is now Cultist and the game will end with Cultists that lose without any way to Convert someone. And also, most of the time when we feel that Cultist are finished we use the Ch to find the Serial Killer, if Ch lose the power to visit every night it basically become useless at all, while, it should be the leader.
