Real time carbon intensity France

Hi,

As you mentioned: "Currently, CATS only works in the UK. If you are aware of APIs for real-time grid carbon intensity data in other countries, please open an issue and let us know."

For France, you can check out the EcoWatt API.

It provides a green, orange, or red signal depending on the electric system's load, which might serve as a good approximation of carbon intensity.

Thanks very much @thomasferte for spotting this! We will look into the feasibility of using it to support jobs run in France. Given that we have some other priorities at the moment for CATS, this might not be for a while, but its always good to know so we can keep a list of possible other APIs to eventually hook up to.

Discussed on our 28/3/25 meeting. @Llannelongue is going to take a look at this - which should help with the language - we should be well set up to add another API.
