Issues with apps running in background on Android 16

Ever since the update to Android 16 on GOS, my OwnTracks, ntfy and Element apps won't stay alive after closing them, regardless of the fact that battery optimization is turned off completely, which makes OwnTracks completely useless for me at the moment.

Is this related to any changes in the OS when updating to 16? I would love to help debugging this, however I have no idea where to start.

OwnTracks and ntfy should work fine. You shouldn't need a battery optimization exception for apps using either FCM or a UnifiedPush provider. Element is known to not have reliable push unless you use it with FCM or UnifiedPush.

Afaik, OT uses neither FCM nor UP. Element is configured to use ntfy connected to my private UP server instance and both apps worked fine until the last update, I didn't reconfigure or reinstall anything here.
