Third party contact storage app not available as default option
Device: Pixel 10 Pro
Expected behavior: I'm using Infomaniak's "kSync" app to sync contacts between my Infomaniak account and my device (CardDav). On my former Pixel 4a running GrapheneOS, I could set kSync instead of the device itself as my default contacts storage app (Settings > Apps > Contacts storage; alternatively: open Contacts app > Settings > Default account for new contacts). This ensures that newly created contacts are automatically saved to my Infomaniak account, not to my device (unless I explicitly choose to override this).
Actual result: On my Pixel 10 Pro, kSync is not visible as an option. Permissions and settings of the kSync app are identical to those on my old device.
Proposed fix: make sure third party CardDav apps can be set as default contacts storage app, as was the case for earlier builds (e.g. those for Pixel 4a).
In addition: weirdly, when opening the menu in the Contacts app, under "Accounts" the ksync account is listed there, as is "Device". But in the settings item for setting the default contact storage app it is not listed (as it was on the P4a) and only the option "Device only" is listed.
Edit: also, when creating a new contact in the Contacts app, it can be stored to the third party contact app ksync just fine, and the syncing works. It's just that the third party app cannot be set as default.
My guess is this is connected to: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/28346-contact-sync-no-longer-working
On my P9PRO I can no longer see my DAVx5 account when creating new contacts. I can only add new contacts to "Device only". On last GrapheneOS version I was using before upgrade (my guess is 2025110800) I didn't have any issues. Only after update to 2025112100 I noticed this bug.
Same on a Pixel 8A using GrapheneOS 2025112100. DAVx5 shows as an owner account in the contacts app but it won't allow syncing and new contacts can only be added locally.
Same here, it only changed after the QPR1 update.
Same, also impacts me
Same here, Pixel 9. Noticed it after QPR1 update.
On a fresh install of the version 2025121700 the "contacts storage" screen does not provide the option to use my Google account. I have installed sandboxed Google Play and connected to my Google account. "Contacts and accounts" and "Phone" permissions are provided to Google Play Services. The device is a Google Pixel 8 Pro. My friend with the same device (Pixel 8 Pro) and having installed GrapheneOS since July have his Google account listed as an option in the "contacts storage" screen. The issue happen on fresh installations only or this is a different issue?

Happening to upgraders as well.
