Issue with Scanner connected to GrapheneOS disabling virtual keyboard
I have a scanner connected to the mobile and the problem, as soon as the scanner is connected to the phone the touch keyboard is not showing up.
As soon as I disconnect the scanner the virtual keyboard works. But after scanning i need to enter a value in a box on the site, so I need the virtual one also if the scanner is connected.
Any idea how to have the virtual keyboard working if the scanner is connected?
I enclose screenshots to show that there is no "Show virtual keyboard even physical is attached" or similiar
On Android it looks like this does not happen, but the test was done by a friend, I only have GrapheneOS.
Maybe I oversee something, but I think I tried everything and I do not want to leave GrapheneOS on this device just because the scanner is needed.

Before moving away from GrapheneOS and probably also Android for the Mobile with Scanner I wantet to bring this up again, asking if there is any possibility to display the virtual keyboard even a physical is connected? I definitely would prefer to stay with GrapheneOS.

Yes, it's already available when the keyboard app supports it. You can use a different keyboard.
Thank you, already tried different keyboards and was not lucky. Any suggestions for a keyboard app from fdroid which has the feature?
If you open an adb shell you can do settings put secure show_ime_with_hard_keyboard 1. I think this setting just needs to be exposed in the UI by GrapheneOS somewhere.
